Redshed's live performances in and around Sheffield over the past year or so have seen them become one of the most respected upcoming bands in the city. Taking their influences from the electro-rock of The Rapture and The Cooper Temple Clause they sit comfortably with the current scene led by ¡Forward Russia! and The KBC.

Lead track Boundaries sees the band railing against their hometown Rotherham with a rumbling bassline and choppy guitars. An effect-heavy vocal complains that “people here they just see boundaries, Rotherham’s the word, yeah” and whilst the subject matter can be accused of being a bit sixth form their youthful exuberance and intelligent way of approaching the subject certainly help them past this.

Third track and possible next single No Need For Questions is probably the strongest track on here as it harnesses Redshed’s ‘pop’ sensibilities better than any other track here, which something they should master if they are going to survive in an already crowded niche of alt-rock. Having said that this is by no means I Wanna Hold Your Hand – the menacing double vocals and persistent rhythm section put paid to that.

With a top EP and the energy and volume of their live performances, Redshed have a good chance of going very far. An excellent start to what promises to be good career.
