Far From The Dance are an excellent five-piece hailing from Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. Upon listening to their self-titled EP it is evident that they draw their influence from a wide range of music, fusing samples and synths with guitars, bass and drums with a high level of musicianship.

The first track Don't Give It Up is the most up-beat of the three tracks and is my personal favourite. The synth/programming adds an impressive dimension to the song without being overpowering. From start to finish this song has your head nodding and is sure to be a live/dance floor favourite!

Self Help Provider is the next track on the three-track EP. The intro is excellently put together with a combination of synth, guitar and vocals; however I was slightly disappointed that the song didn’t 'kick in' as much as I expected, a slightly 'bigger' sound before the actual verse would have been more appropriate I feel. That aside, this is a really good song with a breakdown in the middle comprising of an excellent vocal line and synth backing. I feel the only think lacking in this song is a more powerful chorus. The third song It Never Stops is the most electronica-influenced track, but also the most chilled-out. The track is very well written and arranged, and makes an excellent song to relax to – a perfect final track.

Overall, Far From The Dance have produced a brilliant EP – definitely worth a listen!
