Ten-piece 'ska-soul-pop' band Bison are from Sheffield and have produced this excellent 11 track album. Predominantly built upon a foundation of ska, the band have thrown a multitude of influences into the mix and the results make a great listen for anyone, not just for fans of the ska genre. Good examples of this musical diversity are Suicide Bomber, which is heavily influenced by country music, and the soul influenced You Are My Smile.

The songs are often comical in their lyrical content: 'I woke up this morning with a Friesian in my arms, I just hope I didn't do her udders any permanent harm' (The Abominator) being my personal favourite. Despite the light-hearted/comical nature of the songs, it is evident that the band members are talented musicians with great song-writing abilities!

It is difficult to single out the best songs of the album as they’re all equally good, however the up-tempo Sponk is excellent and I can imagine it being a live favourite (skanking galore)!

Bison have produced a cracking, extremely entertaining album, which captures (as far as physically possible) the energy of their live shows!
