Following the cancellation of tonights headliners, Sheffield bands Rotary Ten and The Tiny Dancers
fill in and face the task of playing the massive Sheffield Uni Foundry.
Rotary Ten open to a half-full Fuzz Club but capture the attention immediately with the fantastic
All You've Kept Of This World Is Its Colours. The fast pace is kept throughout the set with the
slower songs from the demos having been dropped in favour of newies like I Fear The Field and
Advancing with Action! Man also receiving the break-neck speed treatment. The only disappointment
in a fantastic set was the fact that James Trafford's brilliant vocals seemed a bit lost in the mix
but Rotary Ten are a band with big things to come.
Headliners The Tiny Dancers spend the time between the two sets decorating the stage with laterns,
flowers, fairy lights and an out of tune old TV set whilst the rest of the crowd filters in. When
they finally play we are treated to a superb set of country-tinged pop gems. Highlights include a
new acoustic song featuring three members of the band on handclap duties, the joyous Baby Love and
the epic set-closer Ashes And Diamonds. Add to this the lead singer’s LCD belt scrolling 'TINY DANCERS'
across it, glitter fights and the guitarist’s massive pair of sunglasses and you have one very special gig.
