Lazy Dollies where formed back in 1993 and completed their
first 10-song demo within 6 weeks of forming. Hear the other side got
excellent reviews in local papers and magazines and gave the Dollies an
excellent fan base locally. Another 8 months and they'd recorded a
second 10 track demo, you got me shakin. All the songs were the
Dollies own material and the album received a massive response from press and fans alike.
1995 brought the arrival of the
Lazy Dollies first, 4-song, E.P Time for Life. This was launched
at Princess Charlotte in Leicester, where the band were supporting Oasis.
The E.P sold out almost immediately and Noel Gallagher promoted the Lazy Dollies as
the Best Up & Coming Band he’d seen.
After touring the UK extensively with various big names, the Lazy Dollies where signed to
New York's Brilliant Records, an independent label, and soon after recorded Summer 99,
which sold out as soon as it hit the High Street. Their last single, Jump Trains, was produced by Dollies Production and
released locally in early December 99.
With a change of bass guitarist and recording company the Lazy Dollies have being working with Seraphic,
a Sheffield based 'Band Angel.' They've just finished recording their latest album to lifes dreamers, scheduled for
launch at the Memorial Hall on November 13th, 2001.
The band are professional musicians, constantly writing and recording new material, and have appeared both on local and national
television and radio.
"I see the music of the Lazy's, as being, powerful, dynamic & lots of fun with one or two twists in each song.
The Lazy's music to me is some of the most beautifully crafted pop songs still to be
discovered!!!! Simon."
The Lazy Dollies have their own style, which they describe as a vibrant pop sound with
soulful undertones. The music is guitar based and very lyrical with melodic vocal lines and lush harmonic tone colours.
