Based in Sheffield/Scunthorpe the band were formed in November 2000; however, in December 2000
two of the original members, the Bass player and rhythm guitarist, quit the week before the first
gig! John and Ritchie, the remaining members, set about song writing and recording. Liam joined
in September 2001 to complete the lineup.
Colorpool are a hardworking band who also get a real buzz from performing. Lively and energetic,
the music is tight aggressive guitar-driven pop/rock, with funky bass lines, rock steady beats and
melodies you’ll be humming all week whilst their stage antics have often been described as organised
insanity, chaos and general mayhem. Main influences are guitar bands ranging from the Beatles through
to Nirvana, Primus, Foo fighters and many more.
