Cohen [and the Shatners Bassoon Band] formed from one
ex-member of Marmalade Sun and Indian Rope Trick - in Jan 2003 born in and out of
a studio, working with various musicians from in and around sheffield as an experiment,
Then people said "why don't you play live?" Well we didn't play live because there
wasn't a band to play live until the other three members turned up from various musical
jam night locations - tuesdays night's Can U Jam for example - then there it was
"Cohen" and the shatners bassoon band with no bassoons! The music is like a lot of
things, and it's like everything and nothing in particular - a fusion of various
styles and influences, hopefully well crafted songs that will last a bit longer than
most macdonalds-made fast food pop music that is around today! future plans to set
up a fully functional record label and find a distribution company to work with.
