Astounding! I can't think of a single thing I'd change... Excellent vocals, great lyrics, superb bass, spot-on drums, and exquisite guitar work.

Cellarhigh are a four-piece based in Sheffield and have produced this 5 track demo entitled the [alt]. ep. Each band member sports a wide range of influences spanning many musical genres from metal to electronica – the result is a funky, rocky, jazzy mix of their own with vocals highly reminiscent of Brandon Boyd of Incubus.

Track 1, entitled They Told Me, is an energetic funky number which is bound to get some people grooving along! Solid drums and a funky bassline keep this track moving, while the vocals and guitars provide a catchy melody. The middle breakdown section features inventive drums and a brilliant chilli peppers-esque bass break before building to the final chorus - my favourite track of the five.

Enigma is the third track of the CD and is an up-tempo tune with an excellent disco bassline. Track 5 is another highlight, heavily jazz/swing influenced you can't help but want to dance! Excellent musicianship and a catchy melody (with sing-along opportunity in the chorus!) this shows that the band have talent!

Overall an excellent demo, which shows off the potential that Cellarhigh have on offer, highly recommended for anyone who enjoys a bit of funk in their rock! Guaranteed to get bodies moving!
