Sham69, Dragster, Maniac play the Corporation Big Room

Corporation - in the BIG room - Milton Street, Sheffield

SHAM 69
DRAGSTER | MANIAC

Saturday September 20th, £8 adv Doors 7pm

Legendary punk band SHAM 69 have just booked a rare UK date at Sheffield's Corporation club. One of the most successful punk bands of the late 70's, early 80's the band enjoyed chart success on numerous occasions as well as several Top Of The Pops appearances. Gritty, abrasive and, above all, honest, the band's musical style represents their working class roots. An unfettered terrace howl, a guttersnipe chant and a post-pub knees up are all ingredients in the Sham blend.

Having just had a seminal Peel Sessions album released, as well as a live DVD this gig see's the reunion of guitarist Dave Parsons with charismatic and outspoken (if unpredictable) frontman Jimmy Pursey - the bands original (and best) songwriting team. After a few forays into a more 'experimental' sound Sham 69 are back doing what they do best - raw, loud and uncompromising punk rock. And who can say fairer than that?
